Board of Commissioners Special Meeting Notice - September 28, 2026

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
September 28, 2026

Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §§ 153A-40 and 143-318.12, notice is hereby given to all interested parties that the Granville County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting, jointly with the Granville County Board of Education, at the Granville County Public Schools Central Office, 101 Delacroix Street, Oxford, North Carolina 27565, on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. for the following purposes:

1. To receive a presentation on, and to consider and take action on, a proposed Agreement for Conveyance of Real Property and Interlocal Agreement Regarding Use of Real Property between the Granville County Board of Education and Granville County, and a joint resolution approving the Agreement and authorizing its execution, under which the Board of Education would convey to the County, pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §§ 115C-518 and 160A-274:
   1. the former Mary Potter Elementary School property, 200 Taylor Street, Oxford, being a portion of Tax Map No. 192313241510 and excluding those certain 1.65 acres situated west of Lanier Street as shown on Plat Book 56, Page 128 of the Granville County Registry;
   2. the former Wilton Elementary School property, 2555 N.C. Highway 96, Franklinton (Tax Map No. 182700326330); and
   3. those portions of the Board of Education’s property at 501 E. D Street, Butner (Tax Map No. 087718208534) containing the baseball field (approx. 1.82 acres) and the soccer/football field (approx. 9.69 acres).

   2. To take such other action as may be necessary or incidental to the foregoing.

The Board of Education will separately consider declaring the Butner properties surplus under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 115C-518. Each Board will act separately.
