Texas State Library to Host Texas Book Festival Author Panels, Tours, and More

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin, TX – The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) is excited to announce that it is once again an official community partner for the 2026 Texas Book Festival, happening Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 14 and 15 in Austin.

The Texas Center for the Book will welcome book lovers to the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building for author panels for both days of the festival, as well as for special, behind-the-scenes tours of the State Archives on Saturday (12 noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., first come, first-served) and a special visitor tent with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Named a National Literary Landmark, the Lorenzo de Zavala Building is located directly east of the Texas Capitol at 1201 Brazos St. View the six flags flown over Texas, six Texas seal mosaics, the panoramic Texas history lobby mural, our changing storyboards and the current exhibit, Texas America250, featuring documents, photographs and artifacts that spotlight some of the areas where Texans’ contributions shine especially bright—true Texas icons that remind all Americans of the 28th state during continuing celebrations of the 250 anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence.

TSLAC’s opening hours for the festival will be 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, and 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15. TSLAC’s usual Second Saturday service will be suspended, with Public Services at the Zavala Building closed for all research during this special event. Full information can be found at www.tsl.texas.gov/texasbookfestival.
